Canada Take 2 --- May 26th and 27th

🇨🇦Yesterday was the day- Back to Canada to finally meander our way to Lake Michigan. Per usual, things didn't work out quite that way.

What we discovered....

1. Mike took the boat out only to find bow thrusters are reversed- left goes right, right goes left... Plus being backwards, they just didn't really work. That would make for some interesting piloting...😉

2. The transducer didn't show any depth. hmm🧐

3. I left the eartec marriage savers in Florida.... 🤦‍♀️

While yesterday and today didn't go quite as planned, we do have a plan moving forward and all will be fine. After all, it's boating. Gotta adjust.

Our Plan:

• Bow thrusters were easy, just expensive. We arranged to have the boat hauled today to fix the thrusters. Done yay ✅

• We basically spent all day yesterday trying to figure out the sonar. At the end of the day, it was decided that when the mechanic was working on the boat over the winter, he broke it and didn't realize it. You may wonder how he didn't realize it. He wasn't working on it at all, but we basically replaced our entire exhaust this year as it was leaking co2. It was a huge job. Shafts were removed and one probably just banged it. I have decided this is what the universe was trying to tell us last year. 🌏 Co2 leaking in the cabin obviously would have been potentially catastrophic. I'll take the broken depth finder to have a piece of mind on that one.

• What do we do about the transducer?🤷‍♀️. We ordered one that will arrive on Wednesday which is already messing with our timeline. Mike successfully got it working at least for now. yay Captain Mike. ✅

• Next step will be getting the new one from Colchester to Montreal as we learned last year not to ship any parts across the border...💰💰 While Montreal is a minimum of 2 days by boat, its only 2 hours by car, sooooo

• Then we have those eartecs. We are getting Heather to ship them to Colchester and they will somehow arrive with Depth Finder.

We are taking advantage of today, to get caught up on things, ( like this blog) and getting ready for tomorrow 🇨🇦"Canada take 2"🇨🇦
